Minimum cruising time 1½ hour. $300.00 per hour dockside mooring fee. PLEASE NOTE: Once a passenger has left the boat, they are not allowed back on.

DEPOSIT: Charters require a $300.00 deposit ($500 if charter is over $1,000.00) 14 days after booking your cruise, with the balance due prior to your departure. Total cancellation of the cruise made less than 30 days out will forfeit their deposit. Balance is due 14 days prior to your scheduled departure date. Bar tabs may be paid after your cruise.

ACCEPTED PAYMENT: For payment we accept cash, personal or organizational check or a debit card. Sorry, no credit cards.

GRATUITY: Gratuities are not included in the cost of the cruise. It is up to your discretion if you wish to leave a gratuity for the crew.

REFUNDS: A full refund will be made if trip is cancelled due to severe weather, strong wind, heavy rain, weather warnings or mechanical failure ONLY. Cruises will depart in the event of rain or snow, and there will not be any adjustments in price if less people attend for whatever reason. If the boat can not leave the dock due to mechanical failure or weather and you may hold your event onboard for 1½ hours, and with a $300.00 usage fee. The balance of your cruise will be refunded via company check at the end of your event.

BEVERAGES: The Star of Saugatuck holds a state of Michigan liquor license. We sell beer, wine, wine coolers, mixed drinks, soft drinks, bottled water, juice, chips and candy. We are willing to work with you on your beverage needs for your event.

You may not bring your own alcoholic beverages onboard the Star. Anyone bringing their own alcohol onboard will cause immediate termination of the charter, without refund. The chartering party is responsible for any damage done while their group in onboard the Star of Saugatuck II. Alcoholic beverages may not be taken off the boat

Please drink responsibly. We want everyone to have a great time onboard during your cruise, but we are not a "booze cruise". We strongly urge you to have designated drivers, or provide transportation for your guests if they will be drinking. The Saugatuck/Douglas police are very "pro-active" in stopping people they suspect of drinking and driving. Drinking is a privilege - not a right. We reserve the right to refuse serving alcoholic beverages to anyone who appears to be intoxicated.

Legal drinking age in the state of Michigan is 21. When asked to provide proof of age picture identification must be used, such as a driver's license. If you can not provide photo identification you will not be served, and no one may buy/get a drink and give it to a minor. The boat will discontinue serving alcohol approximately 20 minutes prior to returning to our dock. If you need to arrange for transportation for your guests you may privately hire the Interurban Transit system (269-857-1418), Saugatuck Taxi (269-543-3355) or Last Call (Friday or Saturday evenings and holidays Memorial Day through Labor Day) 616-550-8793 they are based out of Uncommon Grounds of Water Street operating from 11 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. - this is a free service. We strongly suggest designated drivers for each vehicle if your guests will be driving themselves after your event.

FOOD: You may bring your own food, use a local caterer (see list below) or use a caterer of your choice. If there is any food served during your cruise, you are required to rent the whole boat and a clean up fee of $100.00 will be added to your bill. Your caterer must provide us with proof of insurance, use their own serving staff to set up, serve, and remove the food immediately after the cruise. Catering staff must also provide plates, napkins, tableware, and table coverings. Catering staff must be included in the head count, but you will not be charged for them.

MUSIC: Our p.a. system, which can be heard through out the entire boat, is available for your use. Narration of the cruise route will be provided at your request.

We can play c.d.'s over our p.a. system for background music only. If you wish to "crank-up" the tunes for dancing you need to provide your own amplification system.

If you have a musician(s) such as disc jockey, karaoke, live music etc., they must be included in the head count, but you will not be charged for them. Musicians are required to carry liability insurance and name Queen of Saugatuck Inc. as an additional insured for your event on their policy. If they do not have insurance we can provide it through our carrier for $125.00 per event. We need at least one weeks notice to provide this coverage and payment in advance. If your musician(s) provides their own policy, we must have the policy in our possession one week in advance of your cruise. If your musician(s) does not have a liability insurance, or we are not provided with a copy of the policy they will not be allowed onboard the boat - this is non-negotiable.

The insurance is for liability only and does not cover any of their equipment if damaged or lost. The Star of Saugatuck is not responsible for any damage to their instruments or equipment while onboard. They are responsible for taking all the equipment on/off the boat.

All equipment must be adequately secured to prevent it's falling over if bumped by a passenger, or if the boat rocks due to a wave or wake. An isle way must be left on each side of the pilothouse for access, and the stairway may not be blocked. Speakers may not be put on pedestals or hung in any manner. Bungee cords, rope or plastic tie straps are acceptable methods of securing their equipment. Final set up is subject to management approval for crew/passenger accessibility and safety.

It is strongly suggested that your musician stop by the Star of see where they will be setting up and to determine their electrical needs. We do not supply any jacks, cords, etc. for the musician's use.

You will be provided a form for your musician and you to fill out and return with proof of insurance one week prior to your event.

A small dance area is located on the upper deck.

MISCELLANEOUS: Cruises begin at your scheduled departure time. Boarding will be 10-15 minutes prior to that time. If you elect to wait for additional party members to arrive, cruise time will not be adjusted. Cruise time will be adjusted if our departure is delayed if we are waiting for weather to pass over.

Decorations must be approved prior to your putting them up. Decorating time may be minimal prior to your departure. You are responsible for putting up and removing (immediately after the cruise) decorations from the boat. String and plastic tie straps work best. Duct tape, masking tape, scotch tape, thumb tacks, nails etc., anything that would leave a permanent mark or remove paint may not be used to secure decorations.

No open flame.

Maximum upper deck capacity is 80 passengers. This is a strictly adhered to U.S. Coast Guard regulation, and our crew members closely monitor the number of passengers top side. When maximum capacity is reach on the upper deck, all other passengers will be required to go to the lower deck, or they may stand out on the bow. Standing on the stairways going to the upper deck is not permissible. You may want to make out a seating arrangement to determine who will have upper/lower deck seating.

Passengers behaving in a manner, which is considered a danger to the boat, other passengers onboard, or crew members, will be removed from the vessel, and may face federal prosecution. You are liable for any damages sustained to Star of Saugatuck II, caused by any of your party members.

The cruise is non-smoking. If you are privately chartering the entire boat and wish to allow smoking you may on the bow or upper deck of the boat. Smoking is not permitted in the lower deck cabin or restrooms. We need to determine in advance if you wish to allow smoking on your private charter.

Restrooms are located on the lower deck of the boat. There are two restrooms - men and women. The men's restroom is unisex handicapped accessible.

The Star can accommodate handicapped individuals - canes, walkers or a non-motorized wheelchair. We can not accommodate motorized wheelchairs or scooters. Wheelchairs should be no more than 27" wide and will be seated on our lower deck.

For your guests comfort we suggest shoes with rubber soles and without heels. EXTREME CAUTION should be used if decks become wet - certain shoes on wet boat decks become extremely slippery and extreme caution should be used when moving around the boat.

If you would like to have your wedding ceremony onboard we have several captains that are ordained ministers than can perform your ceremony.

Due to increased security regulations no packages may be brought onboard. Camera and diaper bags, purses, coolers, etc. as well as passengers may be subject to random search. Upon heightened alerts photo identification may be required and a passenger roster may be kept dockside will all passenger names onboard. Firearms are not permitted onboard, even if you carry a permit. We do have surveillance camera's onboard the boat.
